In “Camp Out!”, families will wind their way through a twilight Michigan “forest”, discovering natural wonders around every corner! Gear up with a flashlight, binoculars, and map at the ranger station before you set off into the wild. Discover your campsite, share stories and roast marshmallows over a pretend roaring fire, and watch the stars twinkle as you prepare to “Camp Out!”.

Explore the artistry, history, and creative problem-solving of mazes and puzzles. Developed by maze and puzzle designer, Dave Phillips and artist, Chris Minsal, the exhibit includes painted cardboard box meanders, tunnels, and towers, floor mazes, and tabletop games, encouraging families to explore, lose themselves in challenging puzzles, and find satisfaction in problem-solving.

Explore the essential role that pollinators play in the natural world in the Smithsonian poster exhibition Pollination Investigation. Through “pollinator profiles” visitors can learn about different pollinators—from butterflies and hummingbirds to bats and the wind—and their favorite flowers based on floral characteristics like flower shape, color, scent, and more.
